Visit the Tayrona National Park

The Natural diversity of Colombia is one of its greatest attractions and being able to enjoy it is quite a lifetime experience. In the northern province of Santa Marta the “Tayrona National Park” is one of the natural jewels of this beautiful country.

Visiting Tayrona National Park is an amazing experience for those who are seeking quiet and peaceful surroundings with beautiful beaches and the relaxing scene of an intensely blue ocean. And those who are looking for adventure will be rewarded too, with the possibility of enjoying walks, horseback riding, swimming, and diving.

There is wealth in diversity

The diversity of the Tayrona National Park makes it a completely charming place which captivates its visitors with the wide variety of spaces and natural fauna found in it.

The land area of the park has more than 100 species of mammals, among them the deer and birds in danger of extinction such as the condor, the solitary eagle and the white eagle. Hundreds of species of invertebrates are found in the waters of the protected area, where fish are also abundant and marine mammals such as the dolphins are present.

The Tayrona National Park is also rich in vegetation. It conserves more than 770 species of terrestrial flora. In the marine area there are approximately 350 types of algae distributed all over the place, not including the 31 types of marine flora that you are going to find in any of the beaches or reefs.

On the other hand, you will see the “Cabo de San Juan” (St. John’s Cape), a beautiful beach that is part of the Tayrona National Park. It is one of the most visited and photographed places of the park because the clarity of the water and the sand make it a very striking view.

A large number of visitors to this park are backpackers and hikers, passionate about adventure tourism and closeness to nature. However, this park also provides luxurious rooms for those who just want a place of peace and relaxation. It is without a doubt a space that adapts to all tastes.

This natural paradise can be visited at any time of the year, but the best time is during the summer season, between mid-December and the first week of March, as it is the time with less rain in the area.
